In the following testimonials, employees tell us about their experience at Dexia.

Armand, 30, Local Public Sector Credit Risk Manager (LPS)
Paris (February 2015)

"Our curiosity is sharpened every day both by the major territorial reforms and changes in banking regulations."

Impassioned by the local authorities’ world I completed an internship with the Dexia risk department in 2008. I was fascinated by the meticulousness and seriousness required for the analyst job. I also liked the good spirit with which everyone did their work. Once I finished my studies at ESSEC, I naturally came back to Dexia where I first worked in the International Local Public Sector. Three years later, I wanted to take part in the redefinition of the French Local Public Sector centre of expertise. Now, I manage a team of analysts where we follow 5,000 clients. We assign ratios and analyse each one individually when the stakes require. We look for long-term solutions for complex projects. Our curiosity is sharpened every day both by the major territorial reforms and changes in banking regulations.

Sybille, 40, Dexia People Management and Human Resources Manager for Dexia Belgium
Brussels (September 2015)

"I quickly considered this challenge as unique, but also noble and demanding."

After working in the publishing and consulting area, I joined Dexia in 2004. Today, despite the troubled times we have gone through, it is always as pleasant as before. Dexia S.A. is the fourth group entity I’ve worked for. I have previously held several positions in many other subsidiaries: RBC Dexia, Belfius Bank and Candriam. When the latter two were sold, I chose twice to keep on working with the group. When Dexia contacted me again in early 2015, the idea of leaving a growing company to join an entity in run-off seemed somehow absurd at first. Then, I quickly considered this challenge as unique, but also noble and demanding. Noble to work on the employability of coworkers to help prepare their future and increase their contribution to the organisation. And demanding because we are responsible for attracting talent to a company in orderly resolution. The fact that I took the step myself gave me the power of conviction needed to tell the applicants who want to join us that there are great things happening at Dexia.

Arthur, 34, Asset-backed Securities Credit Analyst
Brussels (February 2015)

"It was a unique opportunity to explore an area that I didn't know very well and which requires the acquisition and implementation of a range of skills."

After three audit seasons with E&Y in Paris, I was hired in Brussels in November 2010 as a credit analyst in the Risk support line’s Corporates & Real Estate analysis unit. I was part of a collective transfer to Dexia Bank Belgium (now Belfius) at the time of the Dexia/Dexia Bank Belgium split. I stayed in that position until 2013 when I was offered the opportunity to board the Dexia ship again as an asset-backed securities (ABS) credit analyst. It was a unique occasion to explore an area that I didn't know very well and which requires the acquisition and implementation of a range of skills (financial, legal, accounting).

Amélie, 30, Responsible for Market Credit Standards
 Paris (February 2015)

"At Dexia, the ‘human side’ and ‘respect for others’ are very important values."

Graduate of a business school, specialised in market finance, and after four years as a back-office market manager (Société Genérale, Natixis…), I wanted to move into organisational project management to contribute to improving a unit or department. I came to Dexia on a six-month fixed-term contract to work on the FATCA project. Aware of my career plans, my manager offered me a permanent position with responsibility for "standards, performance and projects".  The assignment was exactly what I was looking for.
At Dexia, the "human side" and "respect for others" are very important values. Everyone says "hello"; that may not seem like much, but it's quite uncommon for a major bank.

Adeline, 22, Communications Officer under an apprenticeship contract
Paris (February 2015)

"I was attracted by the assignment at Dexia for its change management dynamic."

I was a student at Sup de Co Reims (now the NEOMA Business School) and I was looking for an apprenticeship in a company that would allow me to validate what I had learned in finance and communications with real responsibilities.
I was attracted by the assignment at Dexia for its change management dynamic.
Today I work in a team on a wide range of assignments from project management to managing several communications media. I can proudly say that I have responsibilities at my age and that the team who supervises me gives me their full support throughout my assignment.
As change is permanent at Dexia, we have to continuously question our communication approach. That's what I like best and what convinced me to make it my thesis topic.

Laurine, 26, Market Operations Manager
Paris (February 2015)

"I wanted to work at a well-known, dynamic bank with lots of projects [...]. Dexia […] is all of that."

Former employee in an asset management company with a Master degree in risk and asset management, I wanted to work at a well-known, dynamic bank with lots of projects and increase my knowledge of the banking industry. Thanks to its national (local authorities) and international presence (Europe, USA) Dexia brings all of these aspects together. My main goal is to improve my experience in the teamwork aspect and in the different Treasury back-office business lines (currency management, SEPA deductions, public treasury account management, etc.).

Marine, 22, Human Resources Officer under an apprenticeship contract
Paris (September 2015)

" I saw a real opportunity to develop my experience in the banking world at Dexia."

After two years in a major business bank, I chose to undertake my professional training within the Dexia Group Human Resources team because I saw a real opportunity to develop my experience in the banking world at Dexia. I’m now gaining a great deal of experience at Dexia. The shifting economic environment and the human experience within the group are two real assets to enrich my knowledge. I have the opportunity of being involved with almost all of human resources aspects thanks to the team, which always has a lot of proposals and trusts my work. My responsibilities are progressively expanding, notably thanks to the missions entrusted to me and the challenges we face together every day. I also really like the Franco-Belgian character of the bank, the very pleasant environment in which we work and the sense of mutual respect. I’m thrilled with the strong team spirit upheld despite Dexia’s very special circumstances.
